Hello and Welcome

My name is Cass Urquhart and I am an illustrator living in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ve loved drawing since I was very young, when I used to make up my own characters and write short stories to go with them. 

I went on to fine art and graphic design at university, receiving my Bachelor of Visual Communication from QCA (Queensland College of Art) in Brisbane Australia where I grew up. I started my creative career in 2009 while I was still studying by making band posters for friends. 

After working as a studio designer for several years and doing illustration on the side, I eventually got the courage to branch out on my own and pursue illustration full time.

My favourite materials to work with are pencil, gouache and watercolour. My work is happy and colourful, and often inspired by vintage textiles, design history and the natural world.

I'm always keen to be involved in new and interesting projects. If you have a project you would like to discuss I'd love to hear from you.
